That's what Betamax thought, and it lost them the home video wars. Bloody, bloody home video wars.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑02 Dec 2021, 2:53pmOh, I don't think anyone would use it for prurient reasons. People are more respectful of new technology than that.

We lost a lot of good people in that war. People with so many lines of better resolution.Kory wrote: ↑02 Dec 2021, 8:21pmThat's what Betamax thought, and it lost them the home video wars. So far the greatest thing I've watched is The Ramones live in the Roundhouse. It's amazing, like watching them on a movie screen

You can get so lost in the VR world, I'll never watch music videos the same way again. Just wish there was a decent Clash concert to watch. Tokyo 82 is good and the US fest is alright. But man we seriously need some new and decent product.

So you're saying that that software/hardware extrapolates 2-D and simulates a 3-D experience? You wouldn't be able to move about, but the 3-D quality is quite affective?coffeepotman wrote: ↑04 Dec 2021, 5:34pmYou can get so lost in the VR world, I'll never watch music videos the same way again. Re: Virtual Reality
No not exactly, it's difficult to describe but watching a movie or video with the VR googles simulates as if you were in a movie theater, or you can even be on the moon, and watch the video on a giant screen. You can take a change the aspect ratio of a 4:4 to 16:9 and you can watch on a curved screen. It's still 2d but it's literally like watching on a giant movie screen....in a movie theater because if you turn your head there are empty seats around you and you are literally in a movie theater.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑04 Dec 2021, 10:17pmSo you're saying that that software/hardware extrapolates 2-D and simulates a 3-D experience? It's like making the jump from an old 19 inch tube TV set to a massive 68 inch 4k high def screen, only more, much more!
There are some youtube 3d and 360 degree videos which are incredible. I've found National Geographic has a VR youtube channel which is amazing. I've been into deep space on the ISS and beyond and I've been in the deep sea. It's almost impossible to explain.
