I keep reading the word "legendary" to describe Meatloaf. What adjective would they use for an artist who had TWO hit songs?
Two hit wonder. Personally, I always found his music to be awful.

Yesterday evening, The Boss told me she had a Meat Loaf cd when she was a teenage and got mad at me when I said I didn't believe her, because Meat Loaf is so fucking awful. The only thing redeeming (in a way) is that I associate him mainly with the line, "Bob had bitch-tits."

Wife & I were discussing his music last night, neither of us could recall every hearing one of his songs all the way through, just snippets they've played when they mention his passing.

me neither, but Monkey reminded me that his daughter is married to Scot Ian of Anthrax, which in turn reminded me they used to go to one of the bars that I bounced at and she was very nice to me on a few occasions. Her name is Pearl. Pearl Loaf.

Pearl Loaf or Pearl Meat Loaf? I don't know if it's been established that Meat Loaf is a single name, like Sting, or a first and last name.

I hope it was first and last, because I’d like to think that his mailbox had “LOAF” on it, in waterproof metallic stickers he got from the hardware store.

My recall of Bat out of hell is it was pretty a big deal where i was based and while it wasn't my bag, i always associated it with the "classic" category. Seemed to be more appreciated in the UK for some reason, at least had a good bit more than 2 hits this side of the pond.

I just never got Meatloaf at all. It was like Bonnie Tyler power ballad rock stuff. But hey each to their own.

The only thing I remotely liked by him was in the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
