This is true. If my memory is right, the original Pac-Man had a set pattern for the ghosts, so the real dorks memorized the route for every level. Ms. Pac-Man randomized the ghosts' behaviour.

I played that on an Atari emulator once years ago after learning about it. Horrible game whose awful premise is matched only by the extremely bad game mechanics.
