Four whole months of ducking inane conversations about America’s garbage game.

It really hit me yesterday. As I was getting off the plane there were the usual suspects in their golf shirts and too tight New Balance frantically checking their phones to check the scores, discuss the scores, and check the scores again. Boring, boring, boring.

Ive given it up too. I stopped following a team like 25 years ago and then got pulled into fantasy football with people from work. Now I just like to see the Jets beat the Pats once every 10 years so I can rub it into Flex's face.

It’s something about rich white guys watching poor kids getting brain damage for entertainment that doesn’t sit well. The racism and plantation mentality of the whole thing is sickening.

Once every ten years is a bit optimistic, as any Jets fan will tell you.
The Jets were in mid-season form today, losing and leaving no doubt as to their ineptitude.
Only 16 more to go.
From what I see there's still a little hope

Sorry to be a buzzkill. Football just reminds me how depraved the USA is.

I don't care much for US football, but I'm getting REALLY pumped for the AFL Grand Final. I'm also going to possibly be joining a cricket league here, I guess they're really dying for recruits.

You can search "basketball fan fights 2021" and find plenty of the same kinda scenes.

ETA: sports culture is just noxious generally, I think. I used to think the NFL is worse, but I'm not particularly convinced of that anymore. Due to my standards for all sports being lowered, not out of any improved views of the NFL, mind.

I would go one step further and lump damn near most large gatherings in America into this lump. The public is enraged and doesn't know what to do with it and these events are booze fueled outlets for this rage. I'm retired from events with over 1,000 people. The last concert I went to I had my head on a swivel.

That said, NFL fans and tailgating culture are a particularly volatile mix.
