Man, I haven't thought about floor hockey in a long time. I was never any good at real hockey—never coordinated enough on skates—but I was decent at floor hockey (and it's outdoor cousin, road hockey). And I was a fucking champ at table hockey. I would love, verging on kill, for a bunch of friends who were into table hockey. Just spend an afternoon drinking and playing table hockey would be a blast.Kimmelweck wrote: ↑06 Feb 2023, 11:59amI remember playing floor hockey in gym class in high school, and the worst smelling pieces of gym equipment were always the goalie helmets. They were the old face-fitted mask kind that covered all but the very back of your head - basically a grey plastic bucket with eye holes and 3 or 4 thin strips of foam for padding. They had the smell of a 3-day-old road-killed skunk in the sun. I liked playing goalie, but there was nothing worse than putting one of those helmets on your head after hundreds of kids had sweated in them for 20+ years. After use, they were never cleaned or even allowed to dry a little, but just went straight into a grey canvas bag which got nice and musty. I think my face is breaking out into a rash just thinking about those things.

Re: NHL 2022-2042: So what’s the deal with Hockey?
I've played all sorts of hockey, deck hockey, street hockey, roller hockey, gym hockey, ice hockey, table hockey, bubble hockey, air hockey. When we played it in gym I would bring my own equipment including wooden stick, i'd bring my stick to all my classes on gym hockey days since it wouldn't fit in my locker. I wasn't going to use one of those plastic sticks. Used to torment the classmates I disliked during gym hockey by whipping wrist-shots with the foam puck at their heads, lol. Gym hockey days were some of the very best days of my high school experience. Ah, memories.
From what I see there's still a little hope

Weird random memory that popped up with regards to floor hockey in the gym. In my elementary school, it was all boiler heat, and the gym was heated by a pipe that went along the walls, maybe 8 inches high. It was hot to touch, but wouldn't give a serious burn on immediate contact. Still when playing hockey you'd want to steer people towards the wall and into the pipe and give them some pain from the pipe on bare legs. Kids are little monsters.weller259 wrote: ↑06 Feb 2023, 11:48pmI've played all sorts of hockey, deck hockey, street hockey, roller hockey, gym hockey, ice hockey, table hockey, bubble hockey, air hockey. My immediate thought was mullethead was mouthing off to a bigger guy who also had the higher ground by a couple feet. That alone confirmed he’s a moron.revbob wrote: ↑10 Feb 2023, 11:44amGuy didn't hit him hard enoughKimmelweck wrote: ↑10 Feb 2023, 9:50amMullet-boy calls a guy the N-word and gets clobbered at a Stars game.
