NHL 2022-2042: So what’s the deal with Hockey?

Post by Kimmelweck »

Instead of making a new NHL thread every year, I figure this thread can cover the next 20 seasons of hockey discussion, 2022-2042.

Dale Hawerchuk, who sadly passed away in 2020, was one of my all-time favorite Sabres. I really like this song and video by Quebec band Les Dales Hawerchuk. It is called “Dale Hawerchuk”. It is about Dale Hawerchuk. RIP Dale Hawerchuk.

This one’s for Ducky:

The chair is against the wall. The chair is against the wall. John has a long mustache. John has a long mustache.

Damn, I was ready to talk about 2043.

Been watching a LOT of hockey this season. Bruins rule (today aside)
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

Any 2043 (or later) hockey talk in this thread will result in a 2 week ban. :shifty:

Pre-2022 hockey talk is fine though, because hockey history is always cool.

Today’s Sabres-Bruins game was a lot of fun. Bruins have been looking great this year though.

as a soon to be even older lifelong Rangers fan, my hatred of the Bruins is deeply rooted and unwavering. Plus the fact that once they got old, half the 1970's era Bruins were traded to my Rangers which added a second layer/stench that still hurts today all these years later.

And don't get me started about Rick Middleton either.

The Bruins do look really good this season, the eye test I use ranks them really high. I am not sold on their goaltending as of yet if I had to pick one area to criticize but they've been solid so far.

My Rangers have been up and down. Some days they look almost unbeatable, and some days they look like they play in a rec league. We have some real good players though and if they get hot they can do some damage. Plus our goalie is real good which gives us a fighting chance most nights. Inconsistent play and lack of puck possession are their two biggest weaknesses. Watching them it just seems like they never have the puck and when they do get it, they give it right up. When you're constantly chasing the puck, bad things happen.
From what I see there's still a little hope
That's if we don't hang from too much rope

That almost buzzer-beater was a heartbreaker for those of us who hate the Bruins!

The Blues are just abysmal this season. And now, two of our top players are out for 4-6 weeks due to injury. It all started going downhill after they traded my nice son Jake Walman (and seemingly half of our roster) to Detroit.

Something that drives me nuts if I think about it is how nobody in Seattle cared about hockey until it was announced we were getting a team and then suddenly everyone had Kraken jerseys and stickers on their cars half a year before the team even started playing. Why are people so easily manipulated?

Also, the mascot for the Kraken is not a kraken, it's a troll. What the fuck?

Does the troll mascot by any chance go by the name of Phil McKraken? :shifty:

I mean, that would at least make sense.
