Hello,

I'd like the Oilers to win - give Connor McDavid a chance to lift the Cup.

I'm sorry for your loss, Weller. Welcome to the 2023 keep-stepping-on-rakes club.
Thank you. I knew it was coming so it wasn't a shock. Still, getting hit with the rake isn't fun, even when you can see it heading straight for you.

I too am pulling for Edmonton now, McDavid is all-world and i'd love to see him win. Their team is loaded with talent who just never seem to "put it all together".

Seeing Florida and then Seattle winning game 1's shows just how crazy the hockey playoffs are. Seattle won even though Joe Pavelski of Dallas scored 4 goals in the game. Crazy stuff.
From what I see there's still a little hope

In reality, I don't care, but officially I hope for the Leafs in support of my buddy Joe and our own cardiologist's babe. One of the weird side effects of Red Sox success for the past couple decades is that I've dropped my hostility to Toronto teams, and even want the Leafs to break their drought. Sports futility sucks unless John Sterling calls your games.

Hello,

People can make fun of Canada but when the guy singing the Canadian anthem sings the anthem from the middle of the stands at the Oilers game and then stops and has the crowd finish the anthem, well, that's pretty cool.

The Leafs finally won - Bobovsky (sp?) has been a thorn in their side. The Oilers need this game. The 'Canes look really good. I'm happy if any of these three lift the Cup.

The Stanley Cup is the best playoff in professional sports. EPL season championship is not a playoff but that's always/going to be good.

Florida's forechecking game is outstanding and really difficult to play against, they have controlled the play through their aggressive puck pressure system and its working wonders. The Leafs do have the talent to come back in the series, the question is do they have the "intestinal fortitude" to make it happen.
I agree the Canes look good, I however being a Rangers fan cannot pull for them. I do hope they finish off the Devils.
Edmonton needs this game tonight I agree, to me this series has a 7 game smell to it.

Hello,

'Canes are peaking at the right time. i was hoping the Leafs could go through but Florida's fore-checking is just too good. Oilers are Canada's best chance. Oilers-'Canes would be a good final; plenty of pace.

I am finding it difficult to go against Florida right now the way they are playing. The Canes will give them a much different opponent, can Florida keep up with the Canes, can their forecheck control the Canes' defense like they did to the Leafs? Should be an entertaining series.

On the OT winner:

Just before OT:

Our guy got suspended three games for an accidental elbow. This is a full on wind-up that didn't even get two minutes.

This is a puck that is IN THE GODDAMN NET.

Worst professional NA sports league.

I totally agree with this post.
The Bettman era NHL is the worst NA sports league and its not even close.

First game of the Eastern Conference finals tonight and Canes-Panthers are just heading to a third overtime period. That’s exactly what I want to see at this point. I don’t like any of the remaining 4 teams, so whoever wins, I want the journey to be utterly grueling. I’m rooting for overtimes, game 7s, as much controversy as possible, and for Vegas, especially, to lose.

The Maple Leafs are such a clown car organization. Fired the best GM this team's had in like 30 years because Shanahan didn't like his vibes at an end of season presser. 12 hours between agreeing to an extension yesterday and "actually, no" this morning.

Fuck me. Supreme joke of a sports team.
