Think Spring!
I'm not sure my Brewers have done enough in the off season to contend with St. Louis for the NL Central.
NL Division Winners: Philadelphia, St. Louis, Los Angeles
Wild Cards: Atlanta, NY Mets, Padres

They're gonna be shitty anyway, so may as well make the world better without Bobby the Fifth.revbob wrote: ↑03 Jan 2023, 4:40pmAfter another dismal failure of a season? That works.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑03 Jan 2023, 4:37pmI'm all for bring back Bobby V if it end in a ceremonial drawing and quartering.

Re: MLB 2023
I've groused a lot about the Sox off-season but I actually think it's worth saying that it's more that there are pretty large error bars on either side of the expected (mediocre) outcome. It's not THAT hard to see most of the guys have good seasons and the team being a force (especially if Sale and Paxton have healthy seasons) but... like... counting on Sale and Paxton to be in healthy seems certifiable. Every season has a lot of random variance to it, but there's too much built-in uncertainty with this Sox team. It's asking a LOT for everything to break right enough for us to be truly competitive.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑03 Jan 2023, 4:48pmThey're gonna be shitty anyway, so may as well make the world better without Bobby the Fifth.revbob wrote: ↑03 Jan 2023, 4:40pmAfter another dismal failure of a season? Re: MLB 2023
Oh sure, there could be a weird 2013 "who the fuck are these guys?" lightning strike, but that division is really good. If they were in the Central, I could see a way forward, but there are too many East teams to underperform for it to work.Flex wrote: ↑03 Jan 2023, 4:54pmI've groused a lot about the Sox off-season but I actually think it's worth saying that it's more that there are pretty large error bars on either side of the expected (mediocre) outcome. Re: MLB 2023
I think AL East is wide open for everyone not the Orioles. I expect Toronto and New York to contend for the top spot, but would not count out Tampa and despite what has been written about Boston, they honestly could be in the mix.Flex wrote: ↑03 Jan 2023, 4:54pmI've groused a lot about the Sox off-season but I actually think it's worth saying that it's more that there are pretty large error bars on either side of the expected (mediocre) outcome. I’m skeptical of Devers in the long-term, for reasons of health and motivation. I can’t help but think this was primarily a PR signing, but whatever, it ain’t my money.weller259 wrote: ↑04 Jan 2023, 7:55pmhttps://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/353 ... -extension
