Joe Posnanski with an excellent, in-depth article discussing the new rule changes and the logic behind them: https://www.esquire.com/sports/a4309825 ... eball-mlb/

Not meant to belabor or relitigate any of the previous arguments here, but reading this gave me a lot of new insight into what MLB is hoping to get from these changes (also, somehow I did not realize that this has largely been Theo Epstein's project) and so is worth reading to at least consider what MLB is trying to do. From watching spring training games so far (which must be taken with a huge bucket of salt), I think the changes are having the desired effect but, well, we'll see in a few short weeks what a regular season under the new rules looks like.

Thanks for posting this. Anything by Pos is worth reading (well, his Houdini book was kinda bland) and, as usual, he explains things very, very well.

Teams that win the Grapefruit League are acknowledged as the best team in baseball, right? That's how it goes? Asking for a friend (okay, not a friend, for Flex).

Nah, let’s play the rest out just for funsies. But we already know who really won.

Quickest way to end game is to never play them at all :ugeek:

What about some of those other stadiums? I wonder if a domed place is worse? Also football players playing on the shit. Im glad there's been a shift away from it.
