Sadly, it's a parody account. It fooled me at first though!

I hadn't heard much about him since his acquittal on murder charges. I wasn't really a fan of Barretta, probably watched more Little Rascals / Our Gang episodes myself.

Well, Elon’s efforts to crack down on parody accounts is going swimmingly.

Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

It's a movie I loved when I was 13, hated when I was 20, and enjoy now. Great trailer:Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑10 Mar 2023, 10:23amNeither have I. Really, I only know him from Baretta (and all the nasty stuff of his life).

Dick Fosbury, yesterday at 76. His final flop.

You would be hard pressed to find someone who changed a sport (or technique) as greatly as he did. Prior to that, I was always impressed with Valeriy Brumel training by kicking a basketball hoop. RIP, Dick Fosbury.

Yeah, the Flop was considered a bit of a lazy style at first. I read some of Fosbury’s Wikipedia page earlier. Pretty cool story about how he developed it, starting at age 16, and then tweaked the mechanics until he became really proficient at it. Within a decade or so, pretty much every high jumper was using that style.Wolter wrote: ↑13 Mar 2023, 8:58pmAnd you know those dorks made fun of him until he crushed the record.matedog wrote: ↑13 Mar 2023, 8:56pmThe old form looks so lame compared to his.Kimmelweck wrote: ↑13 Mar 2023, 8:01pmDick Fosbury, yesterday at 76.
