More hobo action from last night: A student left behind a metal water bottle. We have one more meeting, on Wednesday, so I’ll bring it with me for them to claim. If no one does, my bindle continues to grow.

I dread the day you feel the need to qualify it as "hot" hobo action
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

Great thread!

I like to -

Pick up lost things in the street.
Rummage in skips - I'll go out of my way if I spot one.
Bring things home from the recycling centre when I take stuff in.

Amazing what people lose or toss away.

I guess I'm a hobo...

That’s nu hobo.

Also, that wireless mouse was still sitting there by the podium. While I was 95% sure it wasn’t the university’s—I don’t recall seeing it before—I decided to leave it, just in case.

Last hobo loot report of the term: Nobody claimed the water bottle (the Boss told me that it runs for $40) and somebody left behind a scarf that I took with me. Because it was a very chilly and windy night, I actually used the scarf and discovered, damn, I kinda like it. I might become a scarf guy this winter, having an arsenal of two that I've acquired in the past year.

That sounds like a word Elizabeth Fraser would have made up for a lyric.

No. I don't claim ingestibles. Scarves, pens, water bottles, but not food or anything like that.

The other day my younger daughter confessed she had a whole collection of stationery (mainly pens) she picked up at school. Am I raising a Hobo? :scared:

It's chewing tobaccy, a hobo favorite for generations.

One does not raise a hobo; they are selected by a loving deity.
