Zevon did it too for good reasons. I decided to keep my tumor and try to work it out of my body a different way.""Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑12 Jun 2025, 4:15pmPierre Trudeau (Justin's dad) was diagnosed with cancer not long after an alzheimer's diagnosis. Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

My father in law has advanced dementia and also recently got diagnosed with leukemia. They aren't going to treat the leukemia. Totally different situation though.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑12 Jun 2025, 4:15pmPierre Trudeau (Justin's dad) was diagnosed with cancer not long after an alzheimer's diagnosis. So sorry to hear that. Dementia got my mum and has robbed my father-in law of his short term memory. A cruel disease. The mention of leukemia made me think of my dad—that's what got him—and to realize that next month it'll be 25 years. Days grind but years fly.

Thanks all! I feel the worst for my MIL because as a nurse, she takes on this burden more than necessary. And she is such a kind woman. We went to see him yesterday and it's just so bad. Nobody should be made to live like this. I appreciate all of the kind words, everyone!
