Oh, he definitely had his moments, but I'll always remember him as a gas can on the mound. And for looking too much like John Smoltz to feel comfortable.Flex wrote: ↑05 Jul 2025, 8:05pmBarnesy allowed only 1 run in the 2018 world series iirc and he also threw at Manny machado's stupid head. Re: MLB 2025
Sox have been quietly putting together a nice string of Ws in the last couple weeks. Not quite ready to say they're playoff bound or anything, but a lot of it is the kids improving, which is fun. I'm thinking they could be fun to watch through the rest of the season, even if there are still too many growing pains with the kids to really be playoff caliber yet.

I can definitely see a very good team starting next year, especially if Bregman's still on the roster. Always fun when young guys show up and you can see that they belong but they'll get better.Flex wrote: ↑07 Jul 2025, 4:41pmSox have been quietly putting together a nice string of Ws in the last couple weeks. Clayton Kershaw before last night's game: "I don't even know who I'm pitching against. Is that the guy who twisted his ankle on the mound? The 'twisted-his-ankle' guy. I know he throws hard. I saw a couple highlights. He throws hard. But so does everybody."
Brewers rookie phenom Jacob Misiorowski then outduels Kershaw, striking out 12 and beating Los Angeles 3-1.
Lovely.
Milwaukee playing for the sweep today.

Kinda neat that we have Skenes show up last year, blowing people's minds, generational talent and all that, then Misiorowski arrives and seems even better. Hopefully those two guys develop a rivalry—the game benefits from that.WestwayKid wrote: ↑09 Jul 2025, 10:21amClayton Kershaw before last night's game: "I don't even know who I'm pitching against. DJ LeMahieu, adult who looks like a snot-nosed kid, DFA'd by the Yankees.

They swept the Dodgers!! Misiorowski and Skenes have already met, once. Milwaukee knocked Skenes out of the box, with Mizz striking out 8 and giving up 2 hits.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑09 Jul 2025, 12:13pmKinda neat that we have Skenes show up last year, blowing people's minds, generational talent and all that, then Misiorowski arrives and seems even better.
