Association Football Thread
Re: Association Football Thread
Hello,
This is a pretty passionate statement. I'd say re-write their agreement with the EPL to include a $1,000,000,000,000,000,000 buy out fee.

Tried to watch the Man U/Liverpool today. Didn't get far, but daughter repeatedly said I look like Wan Bissaka
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Hello,
The coverage over here in the US didn't provide much on the troubles at Old Trafford. We saw a video of a chunky guy throwing a camera tripod onto the field, some guys grabbing the practice and knocking them around, a bunch of guys on the tarps - mostly in-stadium stuff. I can't believe how easily (it sounded like) they entered the stadium. I've entered a few closed stadiums at ...odd times...to run stairs but the morning of a big match, I was amazed there wasn't a big security/police presence - especially since the protest was already advertised. Does anyone have more knowledge to share about this?

Not much else to say really. United fans disgusted for so long at the Glazers for taking a billion out of the club. Every right to protest but the morons who thought the only way to get noticed was to break in and act stupid have done the protest no favours as the media will just pick on their idiocy.gkbill wrote: ↑03 May 2021, 12:48pmHello,

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop

Hello,
I'm sorry, Scotland, but you won't be boogie-ing tonight.

Hello,
I like both teams. This Croatia team is not the 2018 Croatia team. I really enjoyed watching that team - this team is too slow in advancing the ball forward. Scotland has always been that underdog team for me.

I agree it's not going to be easy but if they (Scotland) play with a flat back 5 at times like they did against England they might frustrate Croatia. With the slim possibility of a goal coming from a counter attack.gkbill wrote: ↑22 Jun 2021, 12:26pmHello,

It'd be a shame of they do win but don't get enough goals to qualify. If they beat Croatia, that's a great step forward for Scot football. They could say they left the Euro's with a win, a draw, and a loss - not many would have thought that before the tourney.
