A nice present to receive, though good wine is wasted on me. Cheers all.

Alcohol may be alcohol but red wine certainly gives off a more chilled and mellowed feeling I've noticed, I love it.
Spanish Rioja 😳

It would either have to be really really good Rioja or I would have to be really really pissed to drink it.
Spent many a long night in Spanish Tapa bars drinking gallons of that stuff in the basements of Westbourne Grove.

That's why my evening routine involves red wine. It creates such a mellow buzz. Perfectly relaxing.

It does. I still chill out with a cold Chardonnay. I like red wine especially with food but can’t find the one I’d like to chill with.

I make shiraz, pinot noir, and cab, no filtering so the taste is fairly bold. Half a bottle in the evening and I'm agitation-free.

It grew on me around 13 oz in. Dont think I would purchase it though. Unfortunately the other freebies I was given are much hoppier. Where's Hoy when you need him?

A few weeks ago, a friend gifted us a local IPA. It was free so, despite my general dislike of IPAs, I cracked one open. One swig was enough. Dry heave stomach acid is a flavour I associate with the morning after a night of hard drinking, not the drinking itself.

The one the only, going down a fucking treat.
I've told you before, Double Maxim brown ale is better. I come from the land of brown ale and I know what I'm talking about. The most common phrase I used as a child was "3 bottles of brown ale please" when I went to the shop for my Dad.

Rancheros, Top Deck shandy and a bar of Old Jamaica for going.

Fancy!
I was strictly traditional Salt and Vinegar crisps, Coke and Mars Bar.

I've still yet to see Double Maxim down here though when/if I do, I'll certainly try some.
