Few days off the sauce and now I can wait to crack open the Tyskie. Solid lager, very, very drinkable.

Port is the way to go rather than sherry. My nan used to ply me with it when I was a young lad, it must be a grandmother thing. Still get a hankering for it now and again.

I see it a lot here in the east.
Re: Thread O'Booze REVISED!
I had this somewhere. Either my sister gave it to me or it was at some bar in NYC where I also drank something with reindeer blood in it.

You'll find both of these beers in Greenpoint, Brooklyn which is an historic Polish neighborhood.revbob wrote: ↑05 Feb 2020, 10:25amI had this somewhere. Either my sister gave it to me or it was at some bar in NYC where I also drank something with reindeer blood in it.

on a bet, I would, but i'd have to replace the vodka with tequila. I dunno, $50? I wouldn't for $20.WestwayKid wrote: ↑30 Jan 2020, 2:51pmThis looks like it would go down and then come right back up. No thanks.

The hills are alive with relatively cheap quality beer.
Re: Thread O'Booze REVISED!
A very kind colleague gave me 20 bottles of this as it's not to his taste. I think it's bloody lovely however.

I've wondered whether Budweiser and those major American brands have to up their quality in Europe based on greater competition and, perhaps, more demanding tastes.

The original lager is bland and nothing special at all. Had one when we went to NY a few years ago, don't recall any difference in taste to here. Only that they were big, big cans!Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑08 Feb 2020, 6:08pmI've wondered whether Budweiser and those major American brands have to up their quality in Europe based on greater competition and, perhaps, more demanding tastes.
This dark one has a lovely roasted taste to it though.

That's still quite a thing to behold, a positive evaluation of a Budweiser product.BitterTom wrote: ↑08 Feb 2020, 6:12pmThe original lager is bland and nothing special at all.
