Perhaps late to the party, but today is National Drink Wine Day, which is different from National Wine Day, which makes sense because we clearly need to find reasons to drink alcohol in this day and age because things are totally fine. In any case, if it isn't too late for you, make sure to have your wine. I'm having a fairly decent claret because I didn't want to walk to the good wine store by me to get a good cab.

I hope I'm far enough from my flu that a glass or two of sauvignon blanc won't give me a relapse.

White wine? Are you playing bridge with the gals?

I don't like any whites other than the blanc, which is tart and a little sour with citrus and sometimes grass clipping tones, as opposed to most whites (riesling, grigio, chardonnay—ugh) which are either too sugary or greasy. The caveat is that I only like blanc made in Marlborough, NZ, where it comes out this way. French and Californian blancs have the same sugary problem as other whites.
