Starting nect tuesday, me and a couple buddies are doing a "12 beers of christmas" thing we put together ourselves. A selection of old faves, some new-to-us beers, and a couple cellared treats that have been saved:

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead

You know, you could probably get a dozen Coors for the price of one of those socialist "beers."

good point. it's been so warm that my garden beds are still alive and need watering.

Haven't seen Accumulation in years. I was going through an old fb album of "12 Beers of Christmas" from 2011 and found this guy:

Accumulation is quite tasty, but I do miss more winter warmers being more readily available. Also, they can St Bernardus Christmas ale now. It was significantly cheaper than bottles at Total Wine, so bought 4 for the season. Just don't share with Doc, he won't be impressed.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

Yeah, we're doing can Bernardus, I'd never seen it canned before. I'm hoping to get to one of our Real Big liquor stores this weekend and finding some more tasty presents for myself as well.

Addendum: I don't think New Belgium makes Snow Days anymore. I haven't had an accumulation for a while, looking forward to it.

We don't get a ton of their stuff, but any barrel aged stout I've had from them has been top notch.

Harumph! I can almost promise you that I'll say, "That's alright." Because that's my reaction to most foods and drinks I have.

Flex got me inspired. Here's the bulk of what I'll drink the next few weeks:

After seeing this stuff at the liquor store the last few trips and checking out a couple reviews online, I picked up a bottle for 10 bucks a couple days ago. I’m a fan of eggnog, and if you can suppress the gag factor at the thought of mixing it with Evan Williams, this isn’t bad at all. One (positive) review I read referred to the smell/aftertaste as having a slight hint of “barnyard funk” (which is true), but it doesn’t terribly overpower the nog, so I’d give it a solid 7/10. I’ll probably pick up another bottle or two to enjoy through the winter months, but it has at least inspired me to just get some eggnog from the grocery store and pick up a bottle of rum or cognac and make my own better version.

I don't think I've had eggnog since I was a kid. It was a super creamy and sugary concoction that was manufactured by Saskatchewan's main milk provider. The thought of it makes me a bit queasy (I'm a skim milk person nowadays). Something with serious booze, tho, has some appeal.

Yeah I’m a skim milk guy too, and this a strictly a holiday treat. Kinda like Bailey’s Irish Cream. In 80 degree or higher summer heat I wouldn’t keep it down for 2 minutes. Enjoying it for now though, 30 proof. I passed it up for a week or two, but don’t regret buying a bottle.
