I'd heard of the Monks but (a) I didn't know the band was made up of Americans and (b) I didn't they'd given themselves monk haircuts. Pure German whimsy!

A friend of the Boss' from Edmonton is in town for the weekend, or rather across the river in Gatineau. He's anglophone, but a Quebecois woman comes up to him, hearing him speak English, and asks, "Do you speak Deutsch?"

"Pardon?"

"Do you speak German?"

"No, I'm from Edmonton. Why do you ask?"

"It just seems like people who speak English also speak German."

:hmm:

The Boss says that Germany might be a land of whimsy, but Quebec is a land of crazy.

That doesn't follow the order of what she heard. That is, she never heard him speak any German at all.

Alternately: Scorpions, Kraftwerk, and Can.

I like the bewildered/concerned reaction of the kids. They're aware that something is not right there, but not certain what the correct move is.

Yeah. They are from Finland though. For some reason everyone seems to think they're German.
