Re: Flex and Wolter's Den of Nerdly Awesomeness
Hey did you guys know that Alan Moore did a comic with Malcolm McLaren?

Do tell! But it does seem like a perfect partnering of professional button-pushers.

I ran into it at a used bookshop in Tucson, but I forgot to buy it on my way out: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fashion_BeastDr. Medulla wrote: ↑29 Oct 2022, 9:25pmDo tell! But it does seem like a perfect partnering of professional button-pushers.

I'm curious what McLaren might have contributed to the project. That is, McL's a concept guy, and it sounds like Moore already had the concept sketched out.Kory wrote: ↑30 Oct 2022, 7:55pmI ran into it at a used bookshop in Tucson, but I forgot to buy it on my way out: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fashion_BeastDr. Medulla wrote: ↑29 Oct 2022, 9:25pmDo tell! Looks like the concept was originally McLaren's, for a film: https://bleedingcool.com/comics/recent- ... do-percio/Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑30 Oct 2022, 7:59pmI'm curious what McLaren might have contributed to the project. I'd go with Ghostbusters, Indiana Jones & Raiders Of The Lost Arc.

Growing Pains, ALF, and Dallas.

Hello,
A-team, Indiana Jones, and Raiders of the Lost Arc. If it was the original Ghostbusters - not Ghostbusters II - I'd go for that. The same holds for Rocky and Rocky IV.

So, in my reading of Daredevil, I’m up to the 250s, with Ann Nocenti handling the writing. I’m not sure how I feel about her stuff because it’s paired up with the godawful John Romita Jr. and his exaggerated and very flat depictions. I can’t get into the stories with that hideous art. (That said, he’s been drawing Spider-man again and I’m enjoying his stuff much more, but his work in the 80s and 90s was just plain ugly.)

Ha, I'm the opposite, I can't get into his current SM art at all. I'm not a big JRJR fan in general, but Nocenti's run is easily one of my favorites.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑10 Nov 2022, 3:34pmSo, in my reading of Daredevil, I’m up to the 250s, with Ann Nocenti handling the writing. I'll never be a fan of his, but at least now his stuff conveys three dimensions. That older work is little different from watching South Park.Kory wrote: ↑10 Nov 2022, 4:11pmHa, I'm the opposite, I can't get into his current SM art at all.
