Family Circus: Hey, humans, you're a bunch of assholes!
Isn't that the whole point of that comic?
There's also lots of creepy Christian stuff, which, if you buy Original Sin, still fits.

Back in the 90s, when I first found the internet, I regularly checked a site called Dysfunctional Family Circus, where people replaced the captions with all kind of transgressive material. A fair amount was lazy incest jokes, but the better stuff ripped at the smug Rockwellian Christianity that grounded the cartoons.
I shared the above with an old friend and her response was
Somehow it's less scary than the regular version...

People who take comfort and sincere amusement from Family Circus identify themselves as my enemy.

Just got back from Butters' appointment. The internist thinks he probably had a middle ear infection (thus the stumbling and balance issues) and suspects he might have some damage to the inner ear as well as his sinus cavity from the chronic sinusitis. She recommends a CT scan to see how extensive it is or if there are tumors or whatevs, which I'm on board with but holy shit the price. It was a long drive and a stressful morning but worth it as I at least have an advocate, but all I kept thinking was, if that stupid old vet had just given him meds when he needed them, I wouldn't have even been sitting in that parking lot.

I completely get your grab bag of feelings—great that there's a sensible way forward, but it should have taken this long if not for the other fucker. Fingers crossed that the CT is negative.

I'm glad Butters finally got in to see a more attentive vet, but sorry about the stress that it took to get to this point. Hope everything is OK with the CT scan.

This is a NY cat. She's a beautiful cat but she's as likely to bite and scratch as she is to cozy up to you. Usually both actually or she swipes at you when you walk by.

my parents/family had a cat before they had me. A Siamese named Mocabu (don't ask, I have no idea why they named her that) who was a force of nature all by herself. She once made the Long Island Newsday paper for climbing up the telephone pole that was in front of our house.
I am the youngest being in this picture, my brother and our Mocabu. This cat was awesome, lived to be 19, was friendly and strong and very large. We absolutely loved her.
