That was, almost certainly, the thing that was the biggest pain about having a dog: cleaning wet/muddy paws after they were outside, in no small part because Ella resented it so much.

At least Ella didn't like rolling in crap. We had friends with a dog who was attracted to rolling in anything wet and stinky. Just … ugh.

I've just had to bath one of mine for that very reason. Here he is resenting me afterwards in his wigwam.

She is not the most well-behaved dog. She has gotten out of our yard a few times. She wakes me up once or twice a night. She barks at all unknown dogs on our walks (she really just wants to play with them). But I love her so much and she is my best friend. We adopted her from the Humane Society when she was 1.5 years old, and she is almost 10 now. And still hasn't slowed down.

Personalities can't help but reveal themselves. The first day we brought the girls home and let them out of their cage, Zoé went around exploring while Charlotte found a place to hide. Yup, that's them to this day. Likewise, Luke, when we let him out of the guest room, he just started exploring like everything was cool despite to bigger cats hissing at him.

I used to think he was the strong silent type but really Lic is the fierce one a lot like Kitty.
