Pretty sure I've mentioned this before, but to those of you with cats, if you've never fired up a youtube video of birds in the wild eating seed, your cat will be transfixed. Ours occasionally wander behind the tv to get a better perspective. It's hilarious and adorable.
Mine love them. Good memories of Kitty's last day watching some.
That's so bittersweet.

Our hamster, Pencil, died this morning. He was only about eight months old. I don't understand why this happened. He was such a sweet little guy. I hope we gave him a good short life.

:-(

Sorry Mrs. B. In college me and my then-girlfriend got a hamster and it lived about as long. Dunno what happened. Just underlines that all life is fragile.

I'm so sorry to read this. His life was brief but he made your family happy and he was cared for like few others.

The crying is understandable (and just proves what we know about you)
but you need not feel guilty Id say. I had a few mice as a kid. I think one lived 2 years but the poor thing got cancer (huge tumor) and the last 6 months I really didn't know what to do about it. I was very young and didn't get any helpful direction from my parents. I couldn't help but think I gave it cancer thru the food I gave it.

I had to euthanize our betta yesterday. I know he was just a fish, but he was super cool! There was an ammonia spike in my tank and he was suffering. Swim in peace, Finny.

sorry to hear that Mrs B. Regardless of the critter, it's sad to have to watch them go.

Maybe "just a fish," but it's mourning the loss of a relationship that you invested in. Always the bad part of the deal.
