A lot of regulations have eased over the years. There is a Costco and I think 3 Walmarts now. Do they constrain the size of these places, Im not sure, a lot is decided more at the local level. There's a regulation in a nearby town that fast food restaurants cant have drive thrus which I think has lead to both a McDonald's and a Burger King to close down while the local bad fast food restaurant Als French Fries continues to thrive. I think Burlington doesnt allow them either and there are no such franchise burger joints or crappy sandwich places in Burlington proper. Hell even the Starbucks downtown closed. But there are plenty of local eateries and I like that. So its not the nirvana it is sometimes made out to be but as someone who has traveled extensively around this country it is head and shoulders above many other hellscapes.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑02 May 2022, 5:41pmI remember reading many years ago that Vermont had restrictions on building area, which has confounded superstores like Costco. Is that still true?

That's kind of impressive, to be honest.

There's some dispute as to whether it was at once or sequentially

I won't let that detract from the horrible feat.

Re: Return of the Mighty Observations Thread
my neighbor's dog always likes to run into our garage if he's out and the door is open. I joked that h must smell the bodies. It turns out that didn't go over as well as you might think.

Someone better keep an eye on you. I have a feeling you just uncovered the neighbor's secret.
