Re: Return of the Mighty Observations Thread
Sorry to hear tep, glad you all are okay! Excellent little twist in the story too, lol.
When I was a kid and we lived in Maine we'd have moose jump in front of our cars sometimes when we were driving down the backroads (and in Maine, it's almost all backroads). One of these fuckers actually jumped over the hood of our car once as we were driving down the road late at night. If we'd crashed into it, the moose would have probably been fine but we'd all for sure have been dead. Scary shit having these things jump out.

Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a bowl of soup
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a rolling hoop
Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle like a ton of lead
Wiggle - you can raise the dead
Pex Lives!

Re: Return of the Mighty Observations Thread
I remember a story of someone hitting a moose, its back end going thru the windshield, and kicking to death the people in the front seat as it struggled to get out. Just terrifying to comprehend.Flex wrote: ↑14 Jun 2022, 3:42pmSorry to hear tep, glad you all are okay! Excellent little twist in the story too, lol.

Glad you're okay Tep, but if you'd shot it first this all could have been avoided.

Re: Return of the Mighty Observations Thread
I had a similar incident in not-so-rural Massachusetts. I tagged a running deer in the back side. This was at night and I was cruising along a country road doing 45-50. It was dark. My approach must have startled the poor thing and she started running in the same direction as me. When she came into my view she couldn’t have been more the 30 feet ahead so I stomped the breaks. I remember the big white tail. When the impact happened I was going 10-15 and she was maybe a tick faster. The car punted the deer a couple of feet in the air. She wiped out but was ok and stood right up. I was stopped and she just stared into the headlights kind of bobbing her head like someone looking to start shit at a bar. After about ten seconds I beeped the horn and she sort of lumbered off into a farm field. The way the road turned had my headlights were pointing into the field as I drove off. There were what seemed like dozens of them all staring at me.
I don’t like driving at night away from town anymore. That shit fucked with my head. I’m glad you and yours are ok. I’m sorry you’ve got this shit in your head but you’ll be ok.

Had a fridge repairman in this afternoon (our fridge has never dispensed water or ice; never been a big deal so we haven't fixed it, but I decided to finally get it done) and he was Russian or Eastern European. I liked getting that cinematic bonus from the experience.
