Regular Coke is my last remaining vice. I try to limit myself to about three a week. I rarely drink alcohol and I mostly drink water, unsweetened iced tea or coffee, but you will take my regular Coke from my cold, dead hands.
Have you considered drinking more alcohol? Studies have shown it makes you cooler.
No, but i have considered taking up smoking again to look cooler.
Why not vape? You can look like you're playing a recorder at the same time.
Because vaping makes you look like a dork!

A few years ago, I had a student who was pretty decent. Not a great thinker, but enthusiastic and he was clearly trying. One day I ran into him on campus and we were both going in the same direction, so we did the walk n talk thing. At one point, he pulled out his vape thingee and rather apologetically asked if I minded. Maybe it was about smoking itself, but I assumed it was the shame of being seen with someone vaping. Anyway, I shrugged and said I didn't judge.

The Boss is in Tahrahnah right now for a conference. She said the room they put her in goes for $450 a night (we ain't paying that, to be clear). I told her that when I started university in 1988 in Saskatoon, I had a 2 BR apartment with a friend for $415 a month (heat and water included). The next year I went to a 1 BR for $360 a month. Crazy nutso.

I shared a basement flat with 2 other guys my first year in college and we paid £35 a week between us for the mice infested hellhole which probably wasn't in the bottom three dwellings i would periodically inhabit over the course of 5-6 years.

I don't know was it better in our day or any of that, but there was certainly no end of grimy, pest-infested bedsits or studios (ie glorified bedsits) to rent for a song anyway. As i remember it £50 a week guaranteed you a nice cosy flat or one bed.

I've never lived in an infested place but neither have I had anything but a basic apartment when renting.

Around 5 am, someone in the neighbourhood screamed four times—argh … argh … argh … argh. What's notable is that the exact thing happened three or four nights ago. The voice was the same, four or five times in the early morning. Curious. And now it's something I'll be listening for.
