Ugh, I remember in the mid-80s, Saskatchewan had a horrible outbreak of tent caterpillars. Those fuckers and their webs were fucking everywhere. It was wretched. And they devoured tree leaves like crazy. I hope that's not what you're dealing with because your summer will be officially ruined.
No it's not them. Those were some banner years for them I remember at night when it was quiet you could hear the damn things devouring the trees and shitting. I remember middle of the summer and almost all the trees were bare.
Fucking terrible. I assume you went thru the experience of banding trees with insulation, tape, and goo to trap the moths from climbing to cocoon?
Yup, burning nests too and stepping on every one in my path.
Those things were especially gooey, too. :yuck:

Anyone else dealing with dry air? I just split my bottom lip while sneezing.
It was as sweaty and moist as a televangelist here today.

Hello,

The correct expression is "It was as sweaty and moist as a Louisiana televangelist here today." Trust me, they sweat like no other for a variety of reasons.

Well, it’s Midwestern humid, not southeastern.

We had successive years of both gypsy and tent.

Yeah, I dont think its ever gotten that bad there again. I want to say that was probably around 82 to 85 roughly.

Thos tents were everywhere and I want to say they preceded the gypsies during the season. The gypsies were nasty because they would just be on random sticks on the ground that you might pick up and they were a bit spikey

Our bad tent caterpillar summer, I remember being at a friend's cabin at the lake. Very basic set-up, no plumbing. So there was an outhouse and those fuckers were all over the outhouse. Just miserable all around.

I worked in a campground during high school it was a constant battle. I had a spray bottle with some cleaning agent in it that I blasted them with it had a good range of 10 feet or so.

Didn't want to scare off the campers, they were mostly from the city and this was their big trip out into the mountains.
