I had some growths removed from my scalp that turned out to be non-cancerous. Both my parents had skin cancer that was caught early enough so I was a bit nervous

Glad to hear they weren't cancerous, given your family history, it's imperative you stay on top of that stuff.
Kinda in the same boat as you with regards to family history, but so far just "sun spots" on me.

Yeah I had a friend die from it this past year and my regular barber freaked me out a bit when he told me that one I'd had forever had gotten bigger and he found another.
