Hey, the episode where Wesley was sentenced to death had some good ideas

Re: Star Trek
The resolution made it perhaps the most disappointing episode ever … of any tv show.

Re: Star Trek
Imagine if the makers had the suss of DC in the 80s when they let readers phone in to decide if Robin would live or die. Wesley would have been annihilated and Gene Roddenberry would have made a billion dollars.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑09 Sep 2023, 8:40amThe resolution made it perhaps the most disappointing episode ever … of any tv show.

Re: Star Trek
Season after season, new episodes would run the "previously on Star Trek" bit at the start showing Wesley being devoured by rabid Tribbles.Silent Majority wrote: ↑09 Sep 2023, 2:31pmImagine if the makers had the suss of DC in the 80s when they let readers phone in to decide if Robin would live or die. Re: Star Trek
Fwiw, I was catching up on season two of Strange New Worlds which prompted the comment. It... may be becoming my favorite installment of Trek.

Re: Star Trek
I've caught a few episodes. I like the premise well enough—assuming it doesn't go the Enterprise route of filling in blanks that only nerds need to know—but I've kinda lost interest in ST as a whole.

There's a surprisingly good understanding of TNG here: https://thehardtimes.net/lists/every-st ... est-third/

I think they rated O'Brien a little high for a guy that pressured his wife into marrying him when she clearly didn't want to.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑13 Feb 2024, 1:12pmThere's a surprisingly good understanding of TNG here: https://thehardtimes.net/lists/every-st ... est-third/

It means he knows all women mean yes when they say no. There's a string of unsolved sexual assaults on planets throughout the galaxy that have been wrongly suspected of being Riker. (Mind you, a lot of those unsolved sexual assaults correctly suspect Riker.)Kory wrote: ↑13 Feb 2024, 5:21pmI think they rated O'Brien a little high for a guy that pressured his wife into marrying him when she clearly didn't want to.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑13 Feb 2024, 1:12pmThere's a surprisingly good understanding of TNG here: https://thehardtimes.net/lists/every-st ... est-third/

I also think they rated Riker too low, but that may be my own taste.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑13 Feb 2024, 5:25pmIt means he knows all women mean yes when they say no. Re: Star Trek
Riker's freaky way of sitting down and his habit of walking to the turbolift like he's going to butt the door with his head means he shouldn't be allowed to be involved in any social activity. But that's just me.Kory wrote: ↑13 Feb 2024, 5:58pmI also think they rated Riker too low, but that may be my own taste.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑13 Feb 2024, 5:25pmIt means he knows all women mean yes when they say no. Re: Star Trek
There needs to be different entries for beardless riker and bearded rike, and I will not share who id rank higher.*
*It's bearded
Addendum: sickening that mot is even on the list. My anti-bolianism is resurgent.
