Which is a unifying theme of the entire series, of how those who succeeded in 1950s triumphalist America deal with the cultural revolt against their worldview. Don alternately fights that wave and successfully surfs it, perhaps because he’s a fraud or a chameleon and doesn’t really have a true foundational faith.
