You are/were insanely kinder to that … production … than I could ever be. I can't even enjoy it on an ironic level.
It's just such a bizarre trainwreck. Maybe we should do an annual group viewing. "Itchy Week", anyone? :shifty:
Annual? Decennial seems generous!
Yeah, I guess you're right. I think the last time I watched it was 2016, as that's the download date on my copy of the file. Last night's viewing should last me a good long while.

I actually bought a dvd copy on eBay, late 90s or early 00s. Perhaps the dumbest curiosity purchase ever. I've since downloaded a better-looking copy (I can't bring myself to say better quality) for the sake of having a better copy.

I have it downloaded threateningly on my hard drive, but I don't think I've ever actually seen it.

Don't watch it sober. Or don't watch it at all. Seriously.

If you love Star Wars and haven't watched the SW Holiday Special, you're like a Clash fan who has never heard Cut the Crap.

Watched this documentary on the Holiday Special. People talking about an absolute trainwreck is entertaining. Choice line for me is Patton Oswalt's observation that the build-up excitement then disappointment of the HS prepared him for the prequels.

I've mentioned this documentary before - I watched it a couple years ago on Tubi - but I just noticed it's available in its entirety on youtube. It's called Plastic Galaxy - The Story of Star Wars Toys.

If you were of the age where you appreciated the original run of Star Wars toys (I got my first Star Wars figures in 1978 when I was 6), I'm pretty sure you will enjoy this:

Thanks for sharing this. I'll take a look in the next little while. I had a lot of SW toys when I was a kid, characters and vehicles.
