Shame the great town of Bell End wasn't included. Or the fantastically named streets Butt Hole Road and Gropecunt Lane.

Just piles and piles of demo tapes and masters lying around. Say, Mick, what's that? Oh, just an album we recorded in 1981 but decided not to release.Marky Dread wrote: ↑07 Jul 2019, 10:59amIf you can get in there.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑07 Jul 2019, 8:56amMick's shed serves as the town hall.

I know Mick has his musical integrity and a level of self pride (hence his reluctance to ever let the London SS recording ever make the light of day. But do you think Muck gets how much people want to hear any scraps and crumbs that are left on the floor no matter how bad they sound.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑07 Jul 2019, 12:38pmJust piles and piles of demo tapes and masters lying around. Re: Hey Limeys...
That speaks to one of the key distinctions between artists and fans (producers and consumers). Our interest is our own enjoyment and, perhaps, historical curiosity; the artist cares about the historical narrative and how much they can shape it, as well as, of course, the quality of the art. We think there's nutrition in those crumbs, the artist may see something that only lessens their overall body of work. Someone like Pete Townshend is a rare bird who seemingly wants to invite fans into his process, that our appreciation of the final product will grow if we get a better sense of how it came to be.101Walterton wrote: ↑07 Jul 2019, 3:47pmI know Mick has his musical integrity and a level of self pride (hence his reluctance to ever let the London SS recording ever make the light of day. Yes that is the sheer fascination for me. That process to something great. Townsend is a classic example.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑07 Jul 2019, 4:22pmThat speaks to one of the key distinctions between artists and fans (producers and consumers). And we are Clash fans whereas members of the band are fans of other bands with whom they grew up not ‘fans’ of the band they are in, Mick for example bring a mad Mott fan.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑07 Jul 2019, 4:22pmThat speaks to one of the key distinctions between artists and fans (producers and consumers). Re: Hey Limeys...
Right—undoubtedly he wouldn't say no to some rare MtH songs in process or whatnot. As I recall, with the TRAC tape was leaked, he wasn't thrilled but he understood why people here would want to hear it.101Walterton wrote: ↑07 Jul 2019, 5:00pmAnd we are Clash fans whereas members of the band are fans of other bands with whom they grew up not ‘fans’ of the band they are in, Mick for example bring a mad Mott fan.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑07 Jul 2019, 4:22pmThat speaks to one of the key distinctions between artists and fans (producers and consumers).
