Irony was big with millennials too. At least that value got passed along. We ruined it with waxed mustaches and "funny" clothes though.

My punk seminar students have tried to assert that their generation is all about irony, but I've never quite bought it, like it seemed a bit too affected rather than a genuine flight away from sincerity. That said, as much as I'm reflexively and cynically ironic, I find it one of Xers' least attractive qualities.
