Thinking of you here, mon ami: https://theonion.com/good-mood-wasted-on-coworkers/
I can relate to the elusiveness of good moods, but I don't think I've ever had one at work...
Even if you know Gary's going to be fired?
My org doesn't really have single firings anymore, they just have big layoffs. I'm fully expecting another one in January.

Gary could be part of the layoffs. It'd serve him right, going on about Macklemore all the time in the break room.

Yeah I haven't decided if I'm going yet. I'm a fan of a few of these bands already but I have a lot going on this weekend.

Plus it's on the other side of town and I'm almost 42.

I've only heard of Black Nite Crash. They contributed a cover of "Dog End of a Day …" on a Love & Rockets tribute album. Any groups there you think I should check out?

Ha! You can continue to bask in your sink-unclogging triumph, as your age demands.

My two faves here are Fotoform (who I've been into since way back in '08 when they were a post-punk band) and Waves Crashing. I don't know how much mileage you'll get out of them, but I do like to see them live.

I just discovered that Ayse Hassan, the bassist from Savages (and one of my favourite bassists), released several ep's after the band went quits. The stuff I've heard is quite good and, I think, up your alley.
