There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

Yep and the guy still says every time, “ no apple sauce no gravy”. Just tried another brand of these plant-based hamburger substitutes, and it's safe to say that I'm fully sold on them. Now, where do I go to get my For Britain button?!

This may sound a stupid question but what do they taste of? I'd be intrigued to try one.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑16 Jul 2019, 5:23pmJust tried another brand of these plant-based hamburger substitutes, and it's safe to say that I'm fully sold on them. Now, where do I go to get my For Britain button?!

I'm not sure how I'd describe their taste—they very much depend on the condiments you use. Like tofu in that regard. They succeed more because of their texture, which does simulate hamburger fairly well. The Beyond Meat brand is the best in that regard. A person could definitely tell the difference between actual hamburger and these, but it's not miles apart.BitterTom wrote: ↑17 Jul 2019, 7:31amThis may sound a stupid question but what do they taste of? Yeah. It’s close enough that unless you were vehement about maintaining a carnivore lifestyle at all times you would have no reason to complain eating one every. Now and then.Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑17 Jul 2019, 7:49amI'm not sure how I'd describe their taste—they very much depend on the condiments you use. Like tofu in that regard. Had a look at beyond meat, over here it costs £5 for 2 burgers, shame as I wanted to try them but can't justify that. Nearly £22 a kilo, that's sirloin steak price!Dr. Medulla wrote: ↑17 Jul 2019, 7:49amI'm not sure how I'd describe their taste—they very much depend on the condiments you use. Re: What Are you Eating Right Now?
That's about the same price as here—$8 for 2. It's definitely pricier than beef, but that's a part of it still being a new product. As more competitors come into the market, the price will come down. Meanwhile, a few fast food place offer them, too. Keep your eye out and you should be able to try one at a cheaper price.BitterTom wrote: ↑17 Jul 2019, 12:08pmHad a look at beyond meat, over here it costs £5 for 2 burgers, shame as I wanted to try them but can't justify that.
