When I was a kid, I wanted to write to Weird Al with a song suggestion " I know you're mince meat pie" to the tune of "Miss me Blind" by Culture Club.

Sorry for that tangent there.

The Humble Breast of Lamb - Part 1.

Slow cooking this very much underrated and underused cut of lamb today, it's a bit fatty and not got tons of meat on there but I'll stick it in for a few hours and it'll be sweet as a nut.

The Humble Breast of Lamb - Part 2.

Given it a sear in the pan to start rendering some of that fat down and now covered up tightly in the baking tray to go in at 150c for the next few hours. Salt, pepper, garlic and rosemary were added.

The Humble Breast of Lamb - Part 3.

It's out the oven and I'm pleased, skin is nice and crispy, almost like lamb scratchings and the meat fell off the bone and was as tender and as juicy as hell. Good result here if I say so myself.

Have I ever shared my sister-in-law's matzo ball story? The Boss' sister is an amazingly kind and dedicated person, but a bit, well, unworldly, I guess. She was working at a grocery store in a small town and a relative was visiting. The relative worked in a grocery store in Calgary, so they were talking shop. The relative was talking about the difficulty of constructing kosher displays and mentioned the high costs associated. Matzo balls were brought up and my SIL gasped, "Oh I can only imagine! Shredded mozzarella is really expensive, so whole balls of it must be insane!" The great thing about her is that wasn't embarrassed when it was explained to her; she just took it in stride and laughed along with everyone else.
