Eating cold beans is not the grossest thing I’ve heard but it’s not plan A either.

I wouldn't normally have cold baked beans but red kidney beans in a salad is a good thing.

BTW, I was very disappointed when we moved here to learn that the French don't call hobos "les hobeaux" (with h silent, of course). This came about because the original place we rented was across from a small park frequented by junkies who liked to sing French folk songs. We started calling it Hobo Park, which led to me calling it Hobeaux Parc, then being told by a francophone friend that that's not a French word. Such a fat pitch over the plate missed.

Perhaps she meant Park.

Oh hell yes, just before frozen, nothing better. Add a splat of brown and you're in heaven.

What kind of beans? Baked beans are better cold (my preference, anyway) but I've never otherwise had beans cold (except for, you know, in a bean salad).

I sear/brown them with chopped onions and garlic, salt and pepper. Then I add chopped peppers, more chopped onions, hot sauce (pick your poison), rum and a few spoons of a good salsa and simmer them. You want the chicken to have the flavor all the way thru not just on the outside. I dont have a time, but you'll know when they are done. Then I'll take them out and perhaps toss them with some hot sauce or bbq and then put them on the top shelf of a hot grill to crisp them up and get some smokey grill flavor.

I just roasted some eggplant and made baba ganoush. I like it super smoky, so I added this smoked paprika I found in our pantry. Good stuff!

You are correct though beans and lager don’t mix.
Back in the day we would go to Smithfield’s meat market after an all nighter as the pubs opened at 4am for the night meat workers and they did the best breakfasts in London. I always struggled drinking a pint with a full English.
