Yup. Chicago Dog includes sliced tomatoes, diced onion, mustard, sweet relish, sport peppers, pickle spear, and celery salt. Bun must have poppy seeds on it and dog itself should be a steamed all beef hot dog.revbob wrote: ↑08 Jul 2020, 10:42pmTomatoes huh?WestwayKid wrote: ↑08 Jul 2020, 10:38pmcategory_956_8833.jpg
This is where it's at when it comes to hot dogs: the classic Chicago Dog.
It’s definitely a regional thing...but around these parts (even up in MKE) they’re king.

I love all hot dogs. I really like the poppy seed buns used in Chicago and the midwest. My all time favorite might be a New Jersey ripper from Rutt's Hut.WestwayKid wrote: ↑09 Jul 2020, 9:47amYup. Just did some Hebrew Nats for lunch. No buns though. With nice mustard and grilled onions and peppers.BostonBeaneater wrote: ↑09 Jul 2020, 10:49amI love all hot dogs. Part of the reason Chicago is a No Ketchup zone is the idea that the tomatoes deliver the taste without unnecessary sweetness.WestwayKid wrote: ↑09 Jul 2020, 9:47amYup. My preferred hot dog vector is a chili dog with mustard and slaw, but the Chicago Dog is good as hell.

There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

No sure I’d call any oyster best. I love em all. The colder the water the better.

They're all sort of different. I'd love to get some Southern Hemisphere oysters. I have enjoyed Pacific Northwest, French, and Northeast/Maritime ones and they are all subtly different.revbob wrote: ↑12 Jul 2020, 2:26pmYeah for best Id need to do a proper comparison. I bought an oyster knife when the plague started and it's been a great tool to have. It's nice to only pay $.60 an oyster rather than the $3 they went for at restaurants.
