I hate those fucking things. Food should be functional.
In the 21st century, food must be photographable and provide a sense of accomplishment. Nutrition is, like, 19th century.
I don't get the thing where people feel the need to show pictures and boast about what their eating on social media, especially when it's clearly in excess of what would constitute a normal meal. I mean come on, there are people starving in most every country, mine included, a burger like that could feed a family, why waste it on a photo op?
Food is utilitarian for me. I can't appreciate the value of a photo. It just means zilcho to me.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy seeing pictures in this thread of what people have made to eat in their own homes, some of the fare I've never seen before having lived in the US all of my life. It's the people who need to post excessive, gluttonous amounts of food that I'm pretty sure is going to go to waste, no way they'll finish the meal, that just kind of bugs me.

Oh yeah, for me who like that stuff, sure, that's great. I mean that I look at a picture of food and it literally has no effect on me. I have no appreciation for the aesthetics. It's a dead zone in my brain (right beside free form jazz and auto racing).

I don't care about food unless I'm the one eating it.

Except the name. Fish Sticks or Aqua Strips, please. I hate the word "finger."

The best pizza ever from the local takeaway. Chicken tikka, onions, loads of garlic and coriander with plenty of green chillies to add. Expensive but amazing.

What do you use? BBQ, smoker or?? I have an offset smoker, we enjoy doing ribs but as I'm sure you're aware, it's an all day job. End result is always worth it though.

I dont have a smoker i just do them on my regular grill at 200 for several hours. I keep my eye on it though (drunk beer and listen to music). I'll be active tomorrow.
