Because of forest fires—I'm assuming it's in Quebec—the air here is smoky and the sky is yellowish. I told the Boss that it looks like how the world was for me with cataracts. (Mind you, I didn't realize it until I got my new lenses and found out how yellowed everything had gradually become.)

I think we’re seeing the same thing in the Buffalo area, Doc. The sky is yellow/grey/hazy, and the soon-to-be-setting sun is a bright orange orb with well-defined edges. I took a walk to the corner store a few minutes ago, and just had to point out the sun to a couple people walking past me in the opposite direction. They were as amazed as I was when they turned around and saw it. The sun just looks weird tonight. Thanks Quebec.

There's also a big fire in Nova Scotia, but The Boss assures me that this is a Quebec fire.

Today my whole neighborhood smells like a massive campfire. I just went out to see if one of my neighbors’ houses (or mine) was burning or something. Nope, turns out it’s the fires in Quebec. This may be the farthest away I’ve ever knowingly smelled something from – I’m about 450 miles away from the source. The sky is cloudless but it’s not blue, just a sickly yellow/grey. It was hazy like that 48 hours ago too, but the smell has finally caught up with it.

I was gonna go out later to clear those miserable maple helicopters from my driveway, but I don’t know if I wanna breathe that shit for a couple hours. Honestly, I’m not even sure if the air quality would be any better indoors, considering I first noticed the burning smell from inside.
