She's no Emma Stone, but I agree.
Who plays Japanese better?
Emma has never tried, as far as I know.
Aloha (2015) though I never saw it. In fact I think i've only seen like one movie with her in it
She's a quarter Chinese in that movie. I guess all white women playing Asians look the same to you!
I heard she peed in a coke for authenticity.

Finally saw JoJo Rabbit. Brilliant writing and acting. My only complaint is the Rebel Wilson character added nothing to the story.
besides being pretty, Scarlet J has never done anything for me in the acting department, but man, I thought she was fantastic here.
Same. Never been impressed with her, but she done good in this.
Yeah, the first time I've ever seen her portray warmth and she was excellent.

We'd never seen it before, so when it came on a year or so ago we watched it. Definitely a product of its time.

Speaking of movies that were very much a product of their time, my Saturday-morning-the-Boss-is-still-in-bed viewing:

I saw this in the theatre when it came out, but only a couple times since. Schlocky fun. It's basically Major League with basketball, disco, and astrology.

I never saw that, I remember it though. What is it, like Car Wash but with basketball?

The plot, in essence, is the shittiest basketball team in the league turns into the best after consulting an astrologer. They think their success is in harnessing the power of the stars and planets, but it was really about learning to believe in themselves. The humour isn't that far off from Car Wash—that late 70s hip black comedy style.

I could use that kind of confidence, even if it's fake.

Well, I believe you could become a basketball champion if that's what you wanted for your life.
