Uncle Buck is on a movie channel. A movie I always feel obliged to watch when I see that it's on. John Candy was a gem.
Love that movie.
I’ve told my nephews and nieces to call me Uncle Wart.

Watached Magnum Force yesterday evening. Solid and cool flick, and porn for 2A types, but it's much better for its individual scenes than the overall plot of rogue cops killing criminals because the justice system doesn't work. Harry Callahan is the hero because he's basically a rogue cop who hands out real justice, but these guys aren't somehow, so he has to take them down. We're supposed to root against the kind of guys we cheered for in Dirty Harry. It works better, perhaps, if you're unaware of the first movie. Still, it's got Dan Tanna, Otter, and Hutch as the rogue cops, plus a young Suzanne Somers shows her boobs, and Clint Eastwood kicks ass all over the place.

Watched Patriot Games for the first time in years the other night. Still entertaining despite a few stereotypes and cliches. 6.5 out of 10.

Ive probably only seen the edited for TV version like a dozen times. Also people often referred to my dad as Clint because of a somewhat passing resemblance and potentially grouchy and imposing nature.

Did he ever bypass the law to achieve real justice?

Me too. I didn't even know there was sequence where Dirty Harry takes out hijakers at the beginning, until I saw the full version on dvd.

Underwater(2020) - An underwater drilling crew try to survive a structure failure in the station, but discover that the deep water drilling has awaken a creature. This one is good, but could have been better, somtimes its unclear how scenes progress, because of bad edits and its under water. There are a couple of jump scares, and there are no boring moments. The monster doesn't get a lot of screen time, but its ugly and intimidating, just what a movie monster should be.

I'm not sure about this one. I'll probably see it on home video, but I'll keep it on standby if I want to sneak in any movies in the next couple weeks.
