Minor Fast Times bit that always grates. Before Rat takes out Stacy for the first time, Damone advises him to play side one of Zep IV to get her in the mood. Then it shows R & S in the car and the soundtrack is "Kashmir." I try to convince myself that it's some kind of hyper clever joke that Rat doesn't know his Zep albums, but I'm fooling myself.
No, I think that's exactly right. He's so daft and nervous that he doesn't know IV from Physical Graffiti.
I'd seriously like to ask Amy Heckerling about that.

Another thing that came up that I hadn't noticed before was that Mr. Hand, frustrated over the test results, says they've been talking about the Platt Amendment for three weeks now. So basically his entire survey course is about the Spanish-American War and American occupation of Cuba. Are you sure it's the kids who are all on dope, Mr. Hand?

There was apparently a television spin off that lasted a mere handful of episodes:
A vaguely remember that.
I don't remember it at all!

My daughter wanted to watch another trashy teen horror tonight but I put my foot down and insisted we watch The Silence of the Lambs. She thanked me afterwards and now I get the chance to see the other three in the series again.

Great film although haven’t seen it in years, does it age well?

I've never seen it nor Forest Gump.

I watched Silence very recently myself, but I'm not opposed to trashy teen horror either!

Absolutely. Hopkins gets all the kudos but a remarkable performance by Miss Foster as well.

Well worth a watch again and I think the three that came afterwards were all pretty worthy.

The acclaim for that one mystifies. Tediously slow and generates no suspense (i.e., reason to keep watching). I mean, nobody expects Uncle Ned to die, so it's just waiting around for him to be rescued and how. That he holds onto that fucking FedEx package the whole time is one weird-ass act of faith. Yay, he's loyal to his employer to the end. God, I hate that movie just thinking about it.
