Radio Days. We revisited this today. Perhaps more delightful than ever. Funny and affectionate, conveying the kind of nostalgia Allen has for his childhood. It's got that romantic longing for the past without being maudlin.
Such a good movie. I sing "get regular with relax, start every day the relax way" on a regular basis.
It is eminently quotable. Also regularly used in our household: "Hahk, I heah the cannons roah"; "You speak the truth, my faithful Indian companion"; "Beware, evildoers, wherever you are!"

When Evil Lurks (2023) A demonic plague is spreading across a rural Argentine village, and our protagonist seems to be making the wrong decisions. Gory goodness from the director of Terrified, this is one of tops of the year. (SHUDDER)
Wife is out of town so I watched this last night and really enjoyed it. I did have a hard time following the rules exactly and understanding why certain things were happening, but it was still a fun ride. And the dog scene of course.
Revisiting this solid film, I love the disparity between the two posters I've seen for this:

vs. the way less cheesy/way more moody:

Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

The Rule of Jenny Pen (2024) Old-folks-homesploitation. A psycho bully with a hand puppet terrorizes a former judge with a recent stroke and a serious stick up his ass. (SHUDDER)

The Quick and the Dead (1995) Fun and violent shoot-em-up from Sam Raimi with an All-Star cast. (cable)

Novocaine (2025) Kinda sick of Hughie, but love Amber Midthunder. It was an OK action/comedy. It's no Darkman! (Par+)

Riot in a Women's Prison (1974) A French tourist is falsely incarcerated for drug possession just in time for an uprising. With Martine Brochard, Marilù Tolo, Katia Christine, and Christina Galbo as a humiliated nun. From Brunello Rondi, the director of Il Demonio (as well as Fellini screenplays) (AmPrime)

Final Destination (2000) Only saw once, and never got too far with the sequels, so why the hell not? Shit, I just watched 7 Children of the Corns! I guess the the famous truck scene is in part 2? That sticks with ya. Also, most of the character names in this are horror directors! (MAX)

The Comeback (1978) An American crooner attempts to resurrect his career and records in a British manor, while unknown to him, his recently divorced ex-wife lies rotting in his penthouse after being hacked to bits by a masked assailant in this gisllo-esque thriller from Pete Walker. With Jack "Love Boat" Jones and Pamela Stephenson (Blu-ray)

Five Golden Dragons (1967) A vacationing American in Hong Kong finds himself in the middle of an international crime ring in this action-spy-comedy w Bob Cummings. Klaus Kinksi is a chain-smoking villain, Maria Rohm, Maria Perschy & Margaret Lee all looking lovely, & a handful of well-known cameos.(Blu-ray)

Downtown Heat (1991) A jazz musician's wife leaves him for the the lesbian lifestyle and winds up dead, courtesy of local drug dealers in this action-drama from Jess Franco. On his side for revenge are some cops who don't play by the rules. and Lina is a Punk Rocker! (Blu-ray)

I haven't seen this one yet, but I just watched the director's other major film, Terrified, a couple nights ago for the first time and thought it was pretty good.

I LOVE this movie. Maybe the best Western of the 90s? Just so insanely fun.

I went into this one with fairly low expectations but it beat them pretty handily (which isn't to say it's a great movie, but it was solid). Definitely classify this one in the "flex and the missus can both enjoy this" category. Amber Midthunder is so great, I hope she keeps getting roles.

Whatever about the movie, but Mel Brooks looks spectacular for 98.

The Boss just dialed up some movie about the Boston Marathon bombing with Marky Mark as a cop. There's a scene with an Asian kid and I said, "Kid, keep your grandpa away from the cop."

I really want him to make a movie where he plays himself stopping 9/11 from happening

I'd be impressed if he made a movie where he exhibits a second emotion.

Is "being racist" an emotion?
