Re: Funny sketch comedy that's funny
I was thinking about a kid I went to school with. He was pretty slow and dopey, but he'd try to cover it up by dropping big words into sentences. Which made me think of one of my favourite KitH sketches:
I love some of the minor touches, such as "your good lady wife." Such a strange and formal phrase for a ridiculous situation.

It's brillant but my favourite Two Ronnies sketch was always The Opticians, just laughed my tits off all over again...

I love that opticians sketch brilliant stuff.

I don't either. It's wild that I have like 3 of the 5 box sets, and I watched the show religiously back in the day, but like 2-3 times a year I STILL find sketches of theirs that I have no memory of seeing.revbob wrote: ↑16 Aug 2020, 5:18pmThat was such a great show. I know that the US broadcasts cut out some content that CBC showed, but that sketch wouldn't trigger an6 censors.revbob wrote: ↑16 Aug 2020, 8:38pmYeah I watched the hell out of that show.Wolter wrote: ↑16 Aug 2020, 8:16pmI don't either. I kind of love how this thread has evolved into two distinct and discrete conversations between North Americans and people from the UK about culturally specific shows.
