Happy Valley. Brilliant stuff, even better than Broadchurch.
Late to the party here but this series has been brilliant. Last episode airs tonight. Would love to know if any North Americans have seen it, and what they think of it.
I've seen it all and it's brilliant. I also watched "The Mare of Easttown" with Kate Winslet which is basically a rewrite of "Happy Valley".
Really? I never saw Happy Valley. I'll give it a go, I thought Mare was excellent.
I enjoyed Mare also. But it wasn't till afterwards I felt like I'd seen it all before. It's basically a rewrite. Names and places changed but pretty much everything has striking similarities.
Coinkadinkally, the Boss just asked me to find and download the most recent season. She quite liked the first two seasons.

Completely by chance, I sourced a ShakespeaRe:Told version of Taming of the Shrew, which had been written by Sally Wainwright, who's getting her time in the sun now with Happy Valley (a show people continue to recommend to me, but I've got little inclination based on how miserable they all make it sound). It was unwatchably 2005 in its direction, but the script definitely had something going for it.

This show is GREAT! Interesting concept, good acting, fun guest spots. It's weird, funny, clever.

LOVE it! We just finished episode four. I love Natasha Lyonne, but sometimes her schtick annoys me. But she's great in this.

The Boss has been watching that. She's into those zombie apocalypse type of shows, whereas they hold zero interest for me. Oddly, tho, she can't take any movie about nuclear war.

Damn! I was just writing a script about zombies who build a nuclear bomb. Back to the drawing board.

Any good mate?

I watched Slow Horses a few weeks back on Apple TV and it was tremendous. Gary Oldman nails it yet again.
