...The trumpet sounded and the fifth seal was opened...

Sweet action for kids 'n' cretins. Marjoram and capers.

They have prom in England? I don't believe you because there are no English teen movies about prom.
They started after all the US teen movies about prom left all the Nigels and Nigellas thinking it would be cool.
Correct. Also see the Americanization of Halloween. There was no Trick or Treat or pumpkins when I was a kid. Seemed to take off in the late 80s/early 90s. We had a turnip lantern and that was it.

Those are scarier looking than any pumpkin I've ever seen or carved.
Yes
I like those. This Halloween, I'm going to carve a turnip instead of a pumpkin.

Good call, it may take off. Also see if you can get a thing called "end of term disco" to replace the Prom..
There's a tiny, tiny hopeful part of me that says you guys are running a Kaufmanesque long con on the board

“Is that daddy was a bankrobber?”

No idea how my daughter knew that based on my shirt but I’m so proud of her.
Excellent stuff man.

I've just had to buy my daughter's prom dress so enjoy enjoy any gifts that come your way before the inevitable bankruptcy. ;)

Prom is whatever, but American halloween is the best. Though these turnip lanterns seem pretty cool.
Look, you have to establish context for these things. And I maintain that unless you appreciate the Fall of Constantinople, the Great Fire of London, and Mickey Mantle's fatalist alcoholism, live Freddy makes no sense. If you want to half-ass it, fine, go call Simon Schama to do the appendix.

I think mine was the first generation to enjoy a US style Halloween in the early 90s. Shit rocked.

Turnips can be alright. This is, I suppose, my most medieval peasant opinion. That, and my belief that the Pope in the East is the only true one.

I was turned off by them mainly because of the odor when they are cooked. Been ages since I tried them. I suppose I would try again if someone made them but I have no interest in cooking them.

Some foods were put on the earth by God to determine who is worthy of heaven. Turnips say thank you for your toil, but the kingdom is not yours.

Hes is a Kajagoogoo fan? I have a hard time keeping track of all the horrible 80s music.
