Rewatching all the Bond films at the moment and just starting Live and Let Die, been a few years since I've watched it but sure it'll be a corker.
The Spy Who Loved me was on TV the other day. Looked dumb.
Ah I love that one, mind you Roger Moore wasn't to everyone's taste.

The Man With The Golden Gun tonight, featuring a triple nippled Christopher Lee, what's not to like?
I don't trust that third nipple.

Spy Who Loved Me was dumb but Moonraker was even worse, not a good period.

Moonraker was dumb but it does have Richard Kiel in it so it's not all bad surely. I just like the cheeky irreverence Moore brings to the bond role, it's not in line with the books, but the books probably weren't filmable (if that's a word) in their literal state anyway.

Timothy Dalton was a very underrated Bond I might add, his 2 films, licence to kill especially were fantastic. Brought a harder side to Bond the series needed.

Holy fudge but the season premiere of Veep was good. How does it not all end with Jonah becoming president?

Watched the first episode of the Madeleine McCann series. Found it very upsetting but also very frustrating.
No it was not ok or ‘what anyone would do’ to leave those kids on their own whilst they went out for dinner.

You've never seen any of it? My recollection is that it took a couple season to really get going. But I could be wrong. But the last three or four have been exceptional. I still howl at this:

It's like the evil (more true) twin of The West Wing. Everyone in government is an incompetent, self-absorbed shitheel. It's just a glorious collection of nasty boobs in positions of power that depend on being respected.

I've caught snippets while in hotel rooms in shitty parts of the country. I dont have HBO and I never felt inclined to pay for HBO nor acquire the show thru extra legal means.

At its best, it reminds me of Spinal Tap, and I suspect a number of scenes are inspired by actual behind-the-scenes fuck-ups.

No, never seen it but I'm a big big Iannucci fan. Thought In the Loop and, especially, Death of Stalin were fantastic. Plus Alan Partridge.
