Okay, the Boss and I seriously disagree about this commercial. I see the boy as genuinely touched that the girl is upset and hopes to make her feel better with some chocolate (basically, what the ad maker wants us to think). The Boss is cynical and see the kid as just using the girl as an excuse to open up his chocolate bar—if I give her some, I get some too. Opinions?
Im a bit of a cynic myself but I dont give the kid enough credit to be so conniving.
Cos the kid is a Limey? :shifty:
I dont normally attribute that sort of behavior to a kid in general.
And you call yourself a cynic!
The signs have been there, Im getting soft.

Given that I feel bad for the girl, obviously so am I.

I presumed she'd been wronged by a person in power so its it's ok.

For whatever reason, I thought she'd been fired from her shitty job.

I'm on the verge of crying at a Cadbury commercial so I think I must be going through menopause or something. I'm crying at everything these days.

I'd offer you some chocolate, but my wife would think I'm a conniving jerk.

Just watched the Nina Simone doc on netflix and found it incredibly moving. An eye opener in terms of how crazy and fucked up her life was at times. And really smashes home what a brave and remarkable performer she was above all else. Highly recommended.

The Quincy punk episode, because my class is discussing it in a couple weeks. These punk kids seem like a lot of trouble. I hope the police do something about them before good kids get hurt.

So many good quotes in that episode. I once did a cool mix with various artists and sound bites from that episode.

I borrowed this for cover art.

I like “the violence-oriented music of punk rock.” Violence-oriented just waters it down so much. It's violentishesque.

Do you still have it? Just thinking of something to share with students for fun and games.
