Just the fairy tale thing.

Of course, we just had a naked woman claiming to be Queen of the El, so...

I've got a better-than-average sense of direction and ability to read maps, but I only had to drive in Boston once to say "never again." It's an engineering marvel that efficiently separates natives from non-natives, leaving the latter confused and frustrated prey for the former.

London's similar. There's parts of Soho that even on foot, are a notoriously confusing maze of twisting, identical streets that I still haven't gotten completely to grips with.

It's far too small to be a problem, but there are parts of Charleston like that. Meanwhile, Chicago is 95% Cartesian grid, and anyone who gets lost there is probably in need of some Darwinian herd-thinning.
